Louis Roederer Champagne Collection 244

History

Collection 244 represents a bold reimagining of Louis Roederer's non-vintage champagne, launched in 2021 to replace the Brut Premier. The number 244 refers to the 244th blend since the house's founding in 1776, highlighting Roederer's commitment to innovation while honoring tradition.

Manufacturing Method

Collection 244 combines three elements: a perpetual reserve started in 2012, oak-aged reserve wines, and the latest harvest wines. The base is primarily from the 2019 vintage, complemented by 10% oak-aged reserves and 34% perpetual reserve wines. All vineyards are farmed organically and biodynamically.

Origin

Produced in Reims, France, using grapes primarily from Roederer's own estate vineyards in Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, and Côte des Blancs. The house owns over 240 hectares of vineyards in prime locations.

Taste Profile

Shows remarkable freshness with notes of ripe pear, yellow apple, and citrus, complemented by subtle hints of toasted almonds and fresh bread. The perpetual reserve adds complexity with notes of honey and spice, while the oak-aged reserves contribute structure and depth. The finish is long and precise with a chalky mineral character.
