2019 Power To The People, Santa Barbara, Syrah
History
Power To The People is a relatively new project representing the modern face of Santa Barbara winemaking. It emerged from the region's growing natural wine movement, focusing on minimal intervention winemaking and sustainable farming practices.
Manufacturing Method
Produced using organically grown Syrah grapes. Fermentation occurs with native yeasts, and the wine sees minimal sulfur additions. Whole cluster fermentation is often employed, with aging in neutral oak barrels to preserve fruit purity.
Region of Origin
Santa Barbara County, California, USA. The vineyards benefit from the region's unique east-west valleys, which channel cool air from the Pacific Ocean.
Taste Profile
The 2019 vintage shows intense black fruit, cracked pepper, and olive tapenade notes. The wine is full-bodied with juicy blackberry and blueberry flavors, accompanied by savory herbs and a hint of smoked meat. Shows good freshness with moderate tannins.
